Had a blowout over the weekend and was restocking my bag, so I thought to share.

Looking at this list, I should probably add a quick link. They're sitting in my tool chest right next to me. My saddle bag is also right next to me... now would be a great time to do that.

Tubeless plugs/patch kit.
My old steel road bike is tpu. My carbon road bike and aluminum gravel bike are tubeless.
The carbon has Goodyear tires that are so hard to get off/on those levers are useless. If I can't patch it I'm walking. (gravel shoes at least)
I usually keep a patch kit in mine as well, and a bottle of chain oil with a rag.
Let me think:
Multi tool with chain breaker. I tried to get a tool without the breaker, and wouldn't you know I missed the breaker pretty quickly, so I replaced the tool for one with a chain breaker. Of course, now I haven't needed it. Sigh.

My theory is that I'll swap tubes for the first flat. Then if I get another one, patch whichever one is in better shape, and had for home, because that ride is cursed.
I do mostly trail biking. I just started carrying a mini battery operated chainsaw in my bag a month ago and itās already come in handy twice. I also carry the usual tools, a spare tube, a GMRS HT, solar powered GPS, first aid kit, and snacks. If Iām biking on the river trail, I throw a collapsible fishing pole in there, as well.
Chainsaw?? That's a first, never heard that before.
To be fair, there's been a few times in my travels where I've thought... I need machete rn and maybe a similar feeling took a hold of you. Vrrrnn Vrnnnnnn
The trails around here are very prone to fallen trees and branches and sometimes thereās no easy way around when they come down. With that chainsaw, I can get myself and everyone else on the trail moving again before trail maintenance even gets the call.
On my road bike:
+ a mini pump mounted to my frame and a small electric pump in my jersey pocket
It sounds a lot, but it all fits in a small saddle bag.
On my gravel bike I have all of the above plus:
Maybe a bit over the top, but it still fits in a medium sized saddle bag.
I ride them all the time. I'm completely sold on them and would use them on any bike except a commuter.
The only disadvantages are the price and them holding air a bit worse than standard tubes so you need to pump them up a bit more often.
Kind of a lot of stuff, but I like to go on very long rides and usually end up on some gravel even on my road bike, and Iāve been caught out with two flat tires and only one spare beforeā¦

My answer is "probably not what I ought to have in it". I have a bunch of bikes (road bike, cargo e-bike, acoustic utility bike, my wife's bikes, my kids' bikes, etc.) and I'm not sure even a single one has everything needed to fix a flat (especially since some have bolted-on axles and such).
I mean, carrying some but not all of the stuff needed to change a tube is objectively dumb on my part. I should either carry all of it or none of it.
For example, pumps tend to stay strapped to the frame in their designated place, but tubes and levers stored in bags sometimes go missing when other cargo is removed.
For me, it is a lot of the same as others have listed.
For my shorter rides, I have;

On a long ride, I will add a cafƩ lock and a mech hanger at least, usually I throw in a 3rd tpu tube to my top tube bag.
I used to swear on co2 right up until I got a series of punctures, and not enough co2s. I now just take them in the winter alongside the pump. Just so I can reduce standing around in the wet. And if you're taking 3 or 4 co2s, probably weighs close to a normal small pump at that point, but takes more space.
Yea, it is expensive for an "allen key", but it is one of the best purchases I have made. such a good tool.
