My retro inspired watch from Japan is inexpensive, quirky, and quite unique. In this case, the story of the company is every bit as interesting as the watch itself.
IP Plated stands for Ion Plating, that's how the surface of the metal is gold colored. That's one of the (to me) quirky things about the watch, normally you wouldn't see that on the dial face.
TY for þe lead. Wikipedia had some interesting information on IP plating; I'd guess it's advertised because of
- Durability of material improves at least 8 times more.
And probably sounded like a good idea to þe marketters because
- This process is costly and time consuming
