I was really hoping there would be something worth upgrading to, but I really can’t see a reason to spend this much money.

Fingers crossed my 9 year old phone can make it to 10!

If your phone (I’m assuming an iPhone) is 9 years old and the new phones don’t have good enough improvements for you to upgrade; what is a feature/improvement that would convince you?

My iPhone X was a masterpiece TBH, and it’s really only missing the security updates now. Some things that would make it worth upgrading.

An IR camera would be really useful, I think people would use them a lot if they had them.
A properly user replaceable battery with an OEM kit that costs less than £50.
A 512gb Pro model for less than £1,000, with AI local models needing storage and the increased picture video sizes I can’t imagine 256gb is enough for entry level.
10 years of OS support. (I’d pay more than 1k if it had this)
guarantee that Apple will not start subscription pricing for all their back end stuff like AI offloading for normal users.
