Need the world to wake up': AI 'Godfather's' stark warning after Trump's speech

25 days ago by arbilp3 to c/worldnews

Donald Trump may not be keen on implementing AI guardrails but one of the 'Godfathers of AI' Yoshua Bengio is siding with nations who want to slow the acceleration of the technology.

US President Donald Trump labelled concerns about AI "a hoax" during a speech to the UNGA.

Professor Yoshua Bengio, one of the 'Godfathers' of AI has pushed back against those comments.

Professor Bengio will address the UN Security Council.

I saw Bengio interviewed tonight on 7.30. I thought what he has to say is worth listening to.

Rules
  1. Follow the aussie.zone rules
  2. We are not a generic World News clone. News must be relevant to Australians and our region. Obvious disregard will earn an warning and then a ban if continued. (If an article isn't from an Oceanian news outlet, and it doesn’t mention Australia, then it’s probably off-topic)
  3. News posts must include some body text explaining how the article is particularly relevant to the Australian perspective, rather than mere global news.
  4. Leave seppocentrism at the door. If you don't know what that means, you're not ready to post here yet.
  5. Avoid editorialising headlines. Opinions go in the comments, not the post.
