Hugo Haus, a.k.a. Schandfleck Hugo, was (illegally) evicted on Thursday (24.9.2026). Located at Gürtelstr. 39 in Berlin-Friedrichshain, for two years it was a home to street punks who had been unhoused prior, and who made the former hostel that had been abondoned and rotting for years into a liveable place. The investment companies dBS Investment and GSI 2 Entwicklung bought this and the neighbouring building, and have announced vague plans to tear down the building and erect luxury appartments in the historical working-class neighbourhood. They used the violent attack on the inhabitants executet by their security guards and construction workers (who broke windows and sprayed pepper spray into a room with people in it) as a pretense to evict the house without legal eviction procedures. Solidarity with everyone thrown back on the streets, endless hate for the abusive investment shitheads furthering the destruction of our beautiful city, and their underhanded, violent tactics of expulsion!

Saturday night, around 100 supporters gathered for an angry protest march through Friedrichshain, which was ended early by the cops several blocks before its registered end point when they stormed the protest and captured one protestor. The opening rally to the protest, outside Ostkreuz train station, featured several speeches from supporters, former inhabitant of Hugo Haus, and a local youth antifa group, as well as a few music acts, which is where this video was filmed!
