We have a few turtles in a small dam on our property. Typically, they are the size of the palm of my hand.

This one measures nearly 300mm along the length of his shell. We live next to the Tingalpa reservoir, so took him down there and put him on the bank. He disappeared into the water pretty quickly. Amazing how fast they can move across the ground when they want to.

Lucky he didn't karate chop you while skateboarding and eating a pizza. Turtle power!

We rescued one way back in the day when doing a drive in the mountains, but looking back I did the wrong thing... It was on the road and I took it to the closest side which had a creek there so I assumed it was the best place for it and popped it down in the reeds next to the bank... but that was the opposite to the way it was originally going. After we left it probably just went straight back on the road again cause they're very determined to get where they want to go. I feel bad about that sometimes. I hope it lived.

Beautiful! You must have a healthy habitat at your place.
