WA police ban 'excluded persons' from protesting at defence expo

I know someone that's received one of these bans; they can't even catch the bus from the busport that day without facing jail time.
It's cooked. These people are not terrorists. They are not criminals. They're ordinary, good-natured, intelligent people. They shouldn't be facing jail time for waving anti-war banners OUTSIDE a war conference.
It seems like over-reach to me.
It's not that simple.
If person in the excluded list enters the exclusion zone between October 1 and October 10, they get a $36,000 fine and three years imprisonment. (Source - Section 46)
However, the police commissioner may give written authorisation to enter the event area.
If anyone still had any doubt about what the priorities of policing and our laws are, hopefully you don't now.
It's about protecting capital, above all else.
We don't live in a democracy.
We live in a democracy, but our form of liberalism has given far too much credence to capital owning. This leads to an imbalance in the supposed liberal outcomes that most often only those on the losing side of that equation suffer from, although few can even identify the cause of their hardships. That in turn leads them to wrongly call for policies that are a poor fit for the issues we actually have.
Two examples of poorly fit policy solutions may be,
Anti-migration will not fix the trouble many rural people see with their economy, which is in fact due to the slow drawing down of the outback population in favour of the metro.
A complete economic and social change like changing to a communist society. This may destroy the imbalance causing the current problem, it might not if the systen is captured before its robust enough to see off those threats. But it will only to replace it with a lack of indivdual and groups agency at the lowest levels practicable. To borrow an A.Smith term, embarrassing the process of trade at the outset.
Both these induced frictions lead to a less satisfying end than we can otherwise strive for in a place like Australia.
But, yes, its concerning that we are this willing to dismiss others freedoms in favour of the capital class. And its a project Australia should undertake with alacrity.
Hmm.

"This is all about keeping Western Australians safe. This is an important event for Western Australia strategically, commercially, for a whole other range of reasons." Sure it is.
They're doing business from weapons for killing people, including civilians. Basically, getting ready for more wars. The mindset is depraved.
And how 'polite' of them to send people a generic letter not explaining why they are banned, while taking away their democratic right to protest.
