I use basically the same era Tama setup. Got it from a pawn shop in the late 90s.

rockstars are okay. they sound fine but the veneer is coming off

I guess maybe that's a common trait, the veneer has peeled from the edges of mine as well. I thought I might use a heat gun to remove the rest and see if I can't finish what's underneath.

correct! Heck yeah

these weird old concert series toms or something. i believe they were modified to accept the second drum head on the bottom?

currently the same diameter as the current tama floor tom but a bit shorter
