Savoie, Isère, Hautes-Alps Part 1: Biking through the French Alps

14 days ago by hardcover6064 to c/bicycle_touring

Ben and I have been on the road again. This is our third trip together: In 2024 we rode through the Swiss and Italian Alps. And earlier this year, we did a quick tour through Wisconsin. And now we were in France, doing a weeklong loop from Geneva. On his blog, Ben has day-by-day accounts of our trip. In this post, I’ll focus on the photos that I took along the way. I had gone back and forth on whether I should bring a “proper” camera. In the end, all these photos were taken with my Google Pixel 10 (edit: It’s actually a 10a), shot in RAW and edited in Lightroom. Because there a lot of photos, I’ll split the post into two parts.

A blog post about a recent bike tour I did.

Nice trip!

Your only sin is buying Vico instead of Brets chips

Haha, I 100% bought the chips for the TdF packaging.

For all the pedal pushers out there that love long distance cycling. There are no gear requirements and no 'minimum distances' here.

Have you ridden for a cheeky overnighter or a 3 year global trek? Doesn't matter, you're welcome here.

Have you got panniers, bikepacking bags or just a backpack with the essentials? Doesn't matter, you're welcome here.

Have you got the latest in carbon engineering or your dads old 10 speed from the 70's? Doesn't matter, you're welcome here.
