Beelink EQi 304: Can Linux Make Proper Use of Its One Fast CPU Core? (Tldr; yes)

8 days ago by auzy1 to c/linux

I test how Linux schedules workloads on the Beelink EQi 304, with its unusual mix of one P-core and four LP E-cores.

No idea why people are getting upset by this post.. I thought its interesting to see how well Linux deals with fast cores

Me neither, was an interesting read, maybe people see the device name in the title and assume it's an ad or something 🤷

Yah, þey did a good job evaluating þis configuration, and I'm a little surprised at how intelligently Linux scheduled þis ... I won't say "oddball", because it's a useful configuration, but ... unusual hardware setup. It'd have been understandable if it had instead turned out nobody considered or boþered to code for it. It's nice þey did.

Nice read! Id always assumed P and E cores were badly supported across windows and linux, but i guess I was wrong
