Canadians were always going to foot the bill for the West Coast pipeline — despite an agreement requiring private capital to cover it

  1. At least ~90% of it appears to be an expansion and not "new" pipeline. I guess they're just making it sound like a whole new pipeline to appease the seppies.

  1. IMO we need to push for transparency. It's my understanding that under reporting of leaks and spills is a common issue. As such we need to leverage the threat of active resistance to ensure better management of both the existing pipeline and any marginal expansions.

  2. We also need to push for clarity on First Nations engagement. Especially with regards to "elected vs traditional" leadership. The existence of 2 parallel systems of authority obfuscates who legitimately represents given communities and their interests.

  3. We gotta make Carney understand that investment in renewables projects must exceed investments in oil and gas.

  4. The economy doesn't have to get much worse before protests like Fairy Creek start offering a comparable standard of living to wage-slavour.

Ya, it’s basically just a twining of Trans Mountain, and that pipeline still isn’t even running at capacity. Doubt this pipeline will actually get built any time soon.
