Oshawa museum faces nearly $3K in city fines over homeless encampments on property

Since Sept. 15, the museum has received seven fines from the city totalling $2,750. At least one expert says the city is not dealing with the problem of homelessness by fining the charitable organization that runs the museum, which showcases historic vehicles.

The approach of fining the business/property owner confuses me.

Gotta punish the citizenry for any empathy shown to those that are meant to scare the rest of us into working. It's pretty much that simple honestly.

Homelessness is a policy decision made every day by our governments by them not acting to actually do anything about it. If they truly wanted to get rid of homeless people, they could easily do so by passing policy to build actually affordable housing, and taxing corporations properly.
