Nope, it won't. Seems like you just think this about every project the moment you notice it's vibe-coded to me. Take a look at the history of the project. I started it in December 2025 and it has received new features and fixes ever since. I'm committed to supporting this in the long run because I heavily use it myself :)
Yay. Yet another to add to the several already on F-Droid alone.
Yeah, I know, but sometimes I'm just not satisfied with the projects out there and would rather have my own where I can tweak every little detail. Another example is that I'm in the process of switching from Spotify to Navidrome right now but I haven't found a good cross-platform FOSS client for it. I really liked Namida, but I don't like their restrictive non-FOSS license and would add/remove/change some stuff. That's why I started another music player app even tho there are even more of these ^^
This looks entirely identical to freetube
Maybe it looks identical on the surface but seems like you haven't actually compared it by using it or looking at the features list on the site. I wanted to move away from using YouTube in the browser but wasn't satisfied with FreeTube as it missed a lot of power-user features I have previously used extensions and userscripts for. To one of my feature-requests (channel-specific playback speed) they just said it's "too niche" (as they do with a lot of them) what brought me to starting the project.
What is the separate system?
Wait while he consults Claude.
You can read the technical data in the homepage or in Github, AFAIK an forked YT API (Local API), you can also use the Invidious API, like FreeTube, if you want in the provider settings.
Yes, sadly, but only small parts. Nowadays there are lot of FOSS which are made with the help of AI. But there are still differences between "with the help of" and entirely Vibe coded with a prompt, here not the case. It's in Beta and in active developement.
Honestly I wouldn't say "small parts" anymore. At the beginning I still read code and brought in my own judgment (as I actually have experience with web development). Nowadays, I rarely steer the agents as they have gotten pretty good at interpreting and implementing my intent. It's just a side-project anyways. When I use the app, I collect things that catch my eye and let the agents work on them later. At some point, I'll test everything again myself and release updates when I think it's in a usable state.
I do think it's a little silly how people here imply “vibe-coded” definitely means it's bad and sloppy tho. I wonder if they also stay on an older kernel version because it now contains AI code.
Proprietary apps being proprietary (revanced/morphe doesn't somehow make it FOSS) enough of a reason to avoid. Yes this is apparently "AI-assisted" whatever your feelings on that are, but your proprietary app most definitely is (the proprietary world is much more enthusiastic about this stuff than the FOSS world is, and remember google is one of the big "AI companies") and you have no way to know (and revanced/morphe can't do anything about that either)
There are real FOSS alternatives like NewPipe that are human-created. You don't need proprietary trash like "morphed" apps and you don't need fly-by-night vibeslop like this thing.
i was always dreading the update process with revanced but with morphe it's quite painless, that's about the only difference i noticed but it's a big one for me. also the patching seems to go a lot faster but that's an apples to oranges comparison as i have a new device also...
Does it have addblock aswell?
