They hoard much more than they spend. Hoarded wealth harms the economy. Taxation puts hoarded wealth into the hands of people who need it, and thus spend it, resulting in a much larger boost to the economy.
What do you exactly mean by "hoarding wealth"? I keep hearing this and nobody ever explains what they actually mean by it. Surely you're not imagining that wealthy people are just sitting on a pile of cash?

Contribute more like.. to climate change? Authoritarianism? Eroding democracy? Extractinf resources from everyone and everything? Redistributing wealth to the upper class? Keeping wages low? Restricting technological advancement? There's so much wrong here it's hard to know where to start.
