Repo Man (1984) - Otto hangs out with Miller, "Plate of Shrimp", the Lattice of Coincidence

One of the more memorable scenes from Repo Man.
Also I'm testing to see how videos from Youtube embed.
Fuckin' love this movie.
Also the fuckin' soundtrack:

It's one of the quiet classics from that era, agreed. 🤘🏼
Let's go do some crimes. Re-watched recently. The script is really great. There are tons of details X-ers still keep in the common culture. The soundtrack, the musicians, are all great. I don't even consider this cult anymore. It's so much a part of the crazy particular punk rock humor of the day. My favorite detail I hadn't caught before and wouldn't have gotten when it came out anyhow is Jimmy Buffett gets an acting credit. I won't spoil it. Best to piece together yourself as the end credits roll. Having been an Angeleno until recently who lived near that entrance to the LA River, I really enjoyed seeing those locations. Last time I took visiting in-laws down the block and abruptly under the 6th Street viaduct, into the river, they had a panic attack and demanded we leave. The viaduct was replaced with a much publicized new one since. It's where Gosling hid in that incredibly accurate chase in Drive (in my opinion, what he did was physically possible and believable in real time, but only for a maniacal race car driver). Arnold prowled the neighborhood in Terminator. You can't do a lot of this shit now and so much doesn't look at all the same now. Try to spot the facade of Paddy's Diner exterior location just down the street from there. The Arts District has since become pretty lazy location scout haven because it's still conveniently industrial in appearance. It's filmed all over though. Colors, Falling Down and Training Day are fun for similar reasons.

The term "Cult Cinema" can mean a lot of things, depending on a person's context. For purposes of this community, what the term refers to are movies that are below the mainstream, often but not necessarily unknown or obscure films, the types of which won't often be discussed in other spaces devoted to the medium.
