Chores chores chores chores!

I can't move the big drawererer thing in the backbackroom. But I'll keep trying because I don't want to ask the family friend to do this, he already took the 'mattress' out for us. (the other bulk items I can drag, since bulk is a broad term for pickup and most are quite small actually) Also the trash is packed this week because the room cleaning went...well.

I need more shelves in there, and I'd like a cheap chest freezer. Anyone got one that is max 30 inch depth, 38 inch width, and height whatever?? Hm hmmm. Maybe a holiday gift this year.

Have you tried putting the drawererer thing on its back on top of a blanket or tarp and moving it that way?

Not judging. I have a really heavy dresser I paid people to move.

Tip: Buy real wooden furniture at auction. It's usually cheaper than new and it's lighter and repairable.

So I did actually move it. I removed a lot of things from it (there were a few heavy items, but none as heavy as the entire fully wooden chest of drawers) and then I managed to wiggle one set of wheels (it was wheeled? Well they were rusty) onto the carpet, make enough room on the other side for my ass to get between it and the wall and just shoved it down.

So now I can clean the little piece of linoleum!

My dresser had a set of four wheels that:

  • did not roll and
  • immediately fell out if you picked the dresser up an inch and
  • were almost impossible to put back in.

Glad you got to that little patch of linoleum!

I remember the movement some er...almost 20 years ago was a lot more fraught, but it was being moved by truck to here. I'm surprised it stuck together after 20 more fraught years. But it has! Yay for it!

Had a mostly free day yesterday, so I made steaks and this specific cauliflower recipe. Unlike most youtube videos, I got the exact same result as the video. It took a few more minutes of roasting, but I'm willing to blame my weird oven for that. It was awesome, scaled up to feed three people, and cleanup was minimal.

Today: snow! On the one hand, I'm happy the climate is behaving for once. On the other hand, I now have to shovel the snow.

I love those. The cheesier the better for me.

It's Thanksgiving dinner day plus delivering juice for my grandfather's wine supply. I was able to help out with my local food bank's Thanksgiving dinner special service. It was very inspiring, I was dishwashing for the kitchen but got to see what a very professionally run dinner service looks like but without the waste of a for profit type of fancy dinner service.

I'm also trying a task manager program on my desktop called "Super productivity" which had me thinking about my outstanding "projects." Turns out I have a lot of projects in various states of incomplete.

I'm not sure how effective setting up a personal ticketing/project management system is going to be I've tried pen and paper and physical agendas but it never stuck. I like it so far, I chose it because it's free and open source without pushing any privately hosted subscription add on (no AI or cloud service unless you go out of your way to integrate them).

Anyways Thanks!
