Tax billionaires, insure millions: The CA wealth tradeoff

11 hours ago by sanitation to c/workreform

The poorest billionaire in California will make about $300 million this year. If we pass the CA wealth tax, he will only make $235 million. In exchange, millions of the poorest Californians will get health insurance. That's the tradeoff billionaires are not willing to make.

The liberals cannot imagine a world where they get their overlords mad. We need a firing squad 😀

It's natural that billionaires don't want to make it. What's baffling is so many poor people are against the tradeoff too

Poor people are getting brainwashed. A lot of people are being told that free healthcare will lead to hedonism and people not taking care of their health, just like how free dental care would lead to people not brushing their teeth (paid/freemium dental care just leads to people only going to the dentist when it's too late unless they can afford fake teeth).

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.

Our Philosophies:

  • All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
  • Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
  • Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
  • We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.

Our Goals

  • Higher wages for underpaid workers.
  • Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
  • Better and fewer working hours.
  • Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
  • Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
