Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodríguez presented an update on the country’s post-earthquake recovery plan, reporting that authorities had rehabilitated 2,422 homes and delivered 700 new houses in six states in the first 100 days following two major earthquakes on June 24.

The government has also restored 686 homes in La Guaira, the state hardest hit by the earthquakes, benefiting 3,358 people. Meanwhile, rehabilitation continues on 20,083 homes across three states, Rodríguez said while presenting the latest figures for the Venezuela Renace (Venezuela Reborn) recovery plan.
The completed rehabilitation of homes in Caracas and the states of La Guaira, Miranda and Aragua has benefited 8,862 people. The government has also provided 461 loans to condominium associations to repair residential buildings and common areas, benefiting 16,172 families.
In Ciudad Caribia, construction is underway on 3,000 temporary single-family homes, with work 27% complete. The government has set a broader target of 6,000 homes under the program.
Despite these advances, thousands of people remain in temporary accommodation. Authorities have relocated 7,336 people and closed 30 temporary camps, but 86 remain open, providing shelter for 18,055 people daily.
“More than 100 days have passed since the double earthquake, and we continue working to meet the needs of Venezuelans,” Rodríguez said. “From the very first day, from the earliest hours, we have been present, assisting and supporting affected families.”
Authorities have inspected 62,968 buildings to determine whether they are safe to occupy following the earthquakes, which measured magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5. Based on those assessments, 267 buildings were demolished as a safety measure.
In La Guaira, debris-removal teams have collected 1.2 million metric tons of rubble toward a target of 2.1 million metric tons. The operations have cleared 120 work sites to facilitate recovery in the affected areas.
The government reported that electricity and domestic gas services in La Guaira had been fully restored, while drinking-water services had recovered to 99% and connectivity to 85%.
Repairs to José María Vargas Hospital are 46% complete, and work is underway at 10 other hospitals. Authorities have also restored 115 of the 120 schools affected in La Guaira. Nationwide, 19 drinking-water systems have been rehabilitated.
To help revive economic activity in La Guaira, the government has provided 2,244 loans and other forms of financing worth approximately $19 million. The funds are intended to help entrepreneurs, businesses and tourism operators, among others, recover their livelihoods.
The Venezuela Renace plan is being implemented alongside several other government initiatives, including the Gran Misión Barrio Nuevo Barrio Tricolor, Corporación Juntos Todo es Posible and Misión Venezuela Bella. Rodríguez said the effort aimed not only to repair earthquake damage but also to improve housing and infrastructure while continuing to support affected families.
