Fire burns down Paris's oldest covered food market

I'm surprised that the headline isn't just "Paris's oldest covered food market burns down". If something burns down, it's not necessary to specify that it burned in a fire. That's kind of implied by the word "burns".

Of course, "Flood burns down Paris's oldest covered food market" would be quite a sensational headline, but not one I'm likely to see in my lifetime.

Not the same at all, but I'm reminded of that incident in Lisbon a couple hundred years ago where an earthquake caused lit candles to start fires everywhere, but also a tsunami, which then flooded the place.

I suppose, with a freaky enough series of incidents, anything could happen!
