I would honestly be content for years. There are lifetimes worth of media and literature to go through.

Yeah honestly getting stuck in a time loop would be so good.

  • No worries about money or general future stuff.

  • As long as none of your loved ones happen to die that day, then you never have to worry about that again.

  • You can eat whatever you want because it'll just reset the next day anyway.

  • You can try anything with no consequences, EG: what if I just told this person to fuck off?

  • You have the entire archive of all of humanity's books, movies, video games, music etc. to keep yourself entertained. Plus you could presumably learn other languages over time and open up a lot more stuff.

I guess the downside would be that you couldn't do any long-term projects like writing a novel or really anything that takes more than a day, but the benefits would outweigh the drawbacks IMO. Especially if there was some way to escape eventually if you wanted to.

With my luck the day I decide to do some weird shit will be the day that it'll end. I'll be shouting at an old lady with my pants off or something and finally tomorrow will arrive and I'll be fucked.

Backup plan: use the time loop to study until you become the world's greatest lawyer, then crime spree lol.

Video games, mostly. I'm never going to finish PSX JRPG masterpiece The Legend of Dragon in 24 hours I dont care how many days I get. I just can't grind that game the way I want and then loop back to the start like my 3rd party memory card corrupted again 😭

It would be torture for me... I am starting up a TTRPG campaign soon and I'm excited to play. Unless the loop is on a day I'm playing, it would just be stuck waiting to get it off the ground/continue, and I wouldn't be able to get people together on a different day, schedules are too rigid.

Your other points are good though, I could do a hell of a lot of reading, movies, and video games. I could probably spend years just with those.

This has been my dream since I saw the movie Grounhog's Day.

I hate to go all Cracked After Hours on us, but...Groundhog Day 2: The Rest Of February wouldn't be a lighthearted movie.

Phil is what? 35,40 years old? It isn't established firmly in canon but he spends at least a few hundred if not a few thousand years in that time loop, enough to learn multiple skills, memorize an entire town's schedule for an entire day. And then he's just...out. Time starts flowing normally for him again.

He's spent most of his life from his perspective knowing what is going to happen next. He's spent most of his life treating people like NPCs. He's almost certainly not going to cope well going back to work as a news weatherman, from his perspective he hasn't given a weather forecast in centuries, and nobody is going to believe a word he says about having spent his life in a time loop because now the only way he can prove it is giving detailed biographies of the townsfolk.

Funnily enough I watched a Stargate episode the other day that was this - a couple of the characters get trapped in a time loop and after a while get fed up and decide to learn pottery, improve their golf, juggle

Some people do things for the accomplishment and acchievement, but others do them for the love of the process.

I'm with you though: If I never made any progress, I'd either have to figure out how to rewire my brain, or I'd go insane.

So with crafts like that, there's an area where you're starting out learning that it would be nice to have time reset daily.

Getting into woodworking, I used up a lot of lumber practicing making joints. If I could have my practice boards back, the ones I learned how to make dovetails and box joints and mortises and tenons etc., it'd be kinda nice. Also, saw blades would never get dull. Supplies wouldn't go bad or dry out.

Learning to speak a language, or play an instrument, as long as you had easy access to the instrument, would work fairly normally.

Does the time also block light, electricity and sounds? If yes: I am in, if not: then it's just dying painlessly which doesn't seem too bad
