MIT class project turns into an FDA-cleared treatment for tremors

Exactly. Mine were caused by a medication side-effect and improved after stopping but they can still be a problem.
Fucking NC licenses kill its possibility for helping lots of people :'(
Because if it were CC BY-SA, companies could sell it and then use the income to make improvements to it.
And because of the SA part, any improvements they put into it will necessarily be made public, benefiting all.
But if it's NC, nobody can actually make it and sell it. Hardware isn't free to make, so that means nobody will ever be able to walk into a store and buy one of these.
That might be the course number.
It's definitely a poor choice for a public news release, but I assume it was written by a student who's familiar with colloquial terms who assumed their audience was other students and recent grads.

I’d really like to try this. I have tremors that can sometimes get out of control.
