Status update:
I was going to do the photography for an actual knife post today. That will have to wait, because my memory card literally disintegrated inside my camera. This has caused me some difficulty.
In the meantime, here are some pictures I took earlier.

You remember how earlier I said I was not best pleased with the steel stock I sourced to make my latest Humboldts out of? Well, in retrospect I decided this did not quite sufficiently represent the brand and that honked me off so much that the other day I dismounted both of them and faced them off, despite not actually owning a surface grinder at the moment. Then I finished them off with a bout on my surface conditioning belts, leaving them with a nice satiny sheen all over.
This whole process what slightly more arduous than I predicted at the outset.

Nevertheless it is done, and I feel significantly better about releasing these into the wild now. It's still not perfect, but it'll do.
A side effect of this was grinding the markings off of these, so I redid them in my newer style while I was at it. The logos are engraved differently now, too (same methodology as my latest batch of Macaronis) and much shinier:

Those of you already following along today might also know that I took it upon myself to develop some custom tooling: Thick steel, ludicrous degree of sharpening, for the express purpose thereof.

Phowar.
This is for my trusty Ruixin RX-009 jig which I still have not worked up the wherewithal to thoroughly review in this space despite threatening to probably four or five times by now. Not least of which because it is not a particularly wieldy object to cleanly photograph. I am now pleased to inform you that not just my small knives shall be shipped to their new owners fantastically sharp, but now all the big ones will too.
More to follow. Dork, out.
So sorry to hear about your memory card. We are all suffering with you since we have been deprived of both a knife post and an awesome picture of a hawk. Imma pour one out for the SD.
