oh my god... "folders" took until now.........

i get it, not every feature can be hair-on-fire priority from day one...

anyway, lack of folders and lack of .kdbx secure (non-json) import already eliminated proton pass for me a long time ago.

I dunno why you need folders in a password manager? They already have "vaults" and filters for different types of items, which are functionally similar.

They launched on day 1 without support for usernames, which was a wild decision, but they fixed that a long time ago.

it's okay for everyone to use software and tools in whatever way that works best for themselves.

if the software doesn't fit their flow, they don't have to conform to the software's design.

Locking POP/IMAP behind subscription made me never even consider using their service. What serious person uses web mail except as a contingency?

I just want to remind everyone that eventually Proton will pull a Google.

I hear so many complaints about this service I would never touch anything this company makes

I don’t want to use them if they’re a for-profit company anyway.

They are a non profit though

They’re not, though. They’re a for-profit company… technically _owned by a nonprofit… but there are other investors who are expecting to profit from their investment.

In 2024 they began transitioning to a nonprofit model. The governing body is the proton foundation which is a nonprofit.
