Usually when I'm walking with it in my hand, but also when it's in my pocket. I have fingerprint unlock disabled, but any touch activity close to the fingerprint sensor seems to wake the device, after which the pulldown menu seems to be accessible, even if the device hasn't been unlocked yet. Anyone else facing this problem, and what can be done to disable this?
I noticed it when some settings like flashlight, Bluetooth, hotspot seemed to activate on their own.
Steps to reproduce: Switch off fingerprint unlock Lock the phone using the power button Touch the location of the fingerprint sensor several times. After the number of times the fingerprint unlock gives up, the device will wake and pattern unlock will show even though fingerprint unlock is disabled (above). The pulldown menu also become available.
Android 17, CP3A.261005.005
Edit: noticed too that if I place my thumb on the sensor it's jump to the pattern screen, but not unlock.
Edit2: so I removed the stored fingerprint and it's now doing what I expect. So you cannot disable the fingerprint wake completely, if there is a fingerprint stored on the phone.

Huh your edit explains some issues I had before I switched to graphene OS on my pixel 8. I was curious why that would happen randomly.
