edit I would like to emphasize that killing POWs like this makes your military weaker compared to the enemy military because it traumatizes your soldiers and cements the fighting will of the soldiers you are fighting. It is just dumb stupid pointless violence that is self-defeating by its very nature and the reason russians are doing it is because at some level they know they already lost this war.
