I quite enjoyed Wytchwood, that is a charming fairy tale crafting game, and Stray is a good one if you like cats. Bugsnax is also unironically a good game involving catching weird bug-like creatures. Subnautica is brilliant as is Outer Wilds, both great exploration games, though for a shorter experience try Abzu. On the puzzle side I'd recommend tetris effect or Humanity. I think most, if not all, are on Extra, though a few I might have got a monthly offers on ps plus.

Stray is leaving PS+ Extra on July 12, if anyone is interesting in playing it.

Out of those I've played Wytchwood, Stray and Outer Wilds, with Stray being my favorite. OW is really let down by the clunky controls, IMO, but it's got a brilliant story.

Do either of Subnautica or Abzu have PS5 upgrades?

Subnautica does but not for Abzu.

Inscryption. Don't look anything up, go in blind!

Bonus: it's on the ps+ extra catalogue!

Awesome, this might be the next game I play!

Inscryption is amazing! And truly, don't look anything up. Go in knowing as little as possible.

If you're looking for games with small time commitment I would for sure check out returnal and a rift apart both short games that are made by first party devs.

Rift Apart I've played already, and I was really thinking about Returnal! Though I guess the time commitment depends a ton on how good (or bad) I am.

Returnal is a blast. There's a learning curve but it is designed to make you feel very good as you build skill. Then there are tons of challenges after the main story that keep you interested.

If.

Unless you can give Returnal enough time, and often enough to actually get good at it then it's a thoroughly depressing experience because it's so uncompromisingly roguelike - you carry barely anything through from one run to the next so if you ever take any kind of break you're right back to square one.

I hear coop takes this edge off and makes it more fun if you're looking for an easier experience. I've also heard that getting the deluxe edition is akin to an "easier" mode as well since it gives you a later game gun earlier. I have some mixed feelings on this though

I felt that way at some points for sure. But as someone who doesn't do many rogue likes the action felt fair for the most part and I could feel my skill improving as I played, unlike some other games.

I agree you can't just pick it up and play without dedicating some time!

For me, I loved Stray, Hades, and Hollow Knights. (I also loved Edith Finch and Inside!). However, I think the last two can have longer play times compared to Stray.

I really REALLY tried to get into Cross Code, but I couldn't do it. Put about 8 hours into ir and keep meaning to go back and try again. I sort of liked it but it didn't really click with me.

I see that Celeste is on sale at the moment. Loved that.

What's Cross Code about?

Pixel art action RPG by Radical Fish. But I couldn't really get into the combat and always felt underleveled, I don't mind grinding but it felt a bit too grindy.

It's on a ton of platforms, and have a memory that there was something problematic about transferring your saves from the PS4 version to the PS5 one.

For me, I really liked Hades and Cult of the Lamb recently. Just picked up The Pathless and Tchia on sale but haven't sunk my teeth I to them yet.

Sable is a tremendously good game. Horrible frame rate issues though. So something to consider if you’re sensitive to that.

Lake - it's in the same sort of 'calm' niche as Firewatch, and it recently arrived on Extra.
