Id prefer more proactive than retroactive steps to fix the issue. Why are people getting into 10s or 100s of thousands of dollars in debt for school in the first place?

I don't disagree we need to prevent this situation in the first place, however Congress and the Senate don't really seem all too interested in actually fixing root problems.
