If you are still looking for some communities you can look around on lemmy, particularly blahaj.zone. 🙂

Alternatively there are some very active discord servers for trans and LGBT people if you Google for them. Egg_irl has the valley, there is also Transpeak and Trans Community Center.

reddit was an important part of figuring out my identity. There are some truly awful parts of the website, but many amazing spaces as well. Now that much of it is gone I guess we build something new

My biggest fear is that hate subreddits like r/gendercritical, r/itsafetish, and r/detrans will pop up here as if given a second life.

Sure they’re popping up, but the major instances are defederating them. That shows to me that the administration doesn’t support that behavior

Many LGBTQ communities rely on Reddit. that was one of the few places I felt free to say 'I'm gay'. I just wish u/spez hadn't ruined this with his greed. now it's gonna be a slow death for the site and all of the hard work gone. But this can be our new home now. I hope at least
