I'd second Before The Storm. It's not better than the first game, but it's excellent story-wise.
I've also played True Colours. It's pretty good in places but nowhere near as good as the LiS/BtS.
The music, both the soundtrack they chose and the ingame music they made inhouse, is phenomenal.
The whole atmosphere, Twin Peaks vibe, is something I found increadibly enjoyable.
Where it fell apart, for me, was the story. The first episode was very intriguing, grabbing me instantly and leaving me wanting to learn more on the whole town, characters, etc…
Without getting too into spoiler, I found the later episodes to be very weak story wise, especially towards the end.
I’d still recommend the game, just not for story reasons.
Are you talking about the first game? If yes then I honestly found the 3rd or 4th eps to be the best. 5th was less story oriented and more about the puzzles.
The soundtrack for the games are amazing though.
I bought the collectors edition once they released it just to get the soundtrack. Such an amazing game that was well produced and directed. I still remember the intro years later when you're first walking through the hallway and the music kicks in. Really set the tempo and feel for the rest of the game. Absolute magic on that first play through.
It’s been a few years since I played the first one, but earlier this year I played True Colors and it really hit me hard, I loved it so much.
You are in for such a treat, this is a great series and there is a ton of love put into them.
Before the Storm, the prequel to the first game, is very good and gives more background on Rachel & Chloe.
The second LiS game fell flat for me as I didn't much care for the characters, but the latest game, True Colors, is phenomenal.
I wasn't bothered by the lack of powers in BTS but I can understand that. I loved the storyline between Rachel and Chloe and found it very heartwarming, which was enough for me to really enjoy the game.
True Colors is possibly the strongest game in the series. Would highly suggest picking it up.
Just bought it. First 1h was promising!
Especially since I am autistic myself. I am thinking of doing 2 runs: an run where I stay as close as possible to what my autistic self would do as possible and one where I try to behave as non-autistic as possible.
If you need a bit more max and chloe in your life, there's a followup/sequel graphic novel series that I quite enjoyed. Although it does assume the 'save chloe' route is canonical and assumes you've played BtS as well, so maybe give that one a go first.
An absolute beauty of a game. BTS is as well. Miss the first playthrough feeling everytime I have the urge to play it again. Don't think I will ever play LiS2 again but it was an experience for sure. Working through true colors and it's taking me so long so not really hooked at all but it's an okay story so far. Also I'll have my Bae over Bay stance forever.
thanks for using Leebra!
