I find if I choose two radically different subjects, or genres, it is less challenging and doesn’t feel overwhelming. For instance, I was reading ‘The Republic’ by Plato and ‘The Nasty Bits’ by Anthony Bourdain last time.
Now I am reading ‘Prequel’ by Rachel Maddow (non-fiction) and ‘The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store’ by James McBride (fiction).
Are you a two-timer?
When you say two at once, are you saying you're actively reading two books, so you'll read one for a bit then read the other? Or are you saying you got yourself two kindles in front of you and are just going at it?
