what to do about twitter links?

3 years ago by ultrapup to c/general

Does anyone have an idea how we can restrict or redirect twitter links? Most of us that don't use Twitter can't view the content anymore to all the restrictions they have put in place.

If you have a known Twitter link, put vx in front of twitter.com and it should pull the content for you.

For example: https://vxtwitter.com/...

unfortunately that link doesn't work, nitter doesn't either

Dang, it was worth a shot. Seems like it's been kinda intermittent lately.

ETA: fx in place of vx is another option, but it's also sporadic.

I almost wanted to write that you can just replace "twitter.com" with "nitter.net" in any twitter link and still see the content. But I just checked and this doesn't work anymore. Does this have something to do with twitter disabling access to their stuff?

Good solution for desktop, unfortunately doesn't support firefox for mobile. Hoping Lemmy could implement a solution to provide everyone to be able to view this content
