While Australia as a culture has a much higher threshold for swearing than most, and certainly the prudish Americans, I suppose federation means people will see the titles of Aussie.zone threads in their feeds so your decision makes sense.

At the same time I’d hate to see us get all uptight about swearing in routine discussions.

I'd encourage everyone to register on multiple instances and find one that feels right for them. If you don't feel at home in a place that doesn't allow the liberal uttering of "cunt" without warning, you'll be better served elsewhere.

They're not mutually exclusive, but I would guess there is a trend towards incivility with increased expletives.
