• We can steal data, others cannot.
• We can dominate the world, others cannot.

Who the fuck gives Anthropic the right to use all that training data for their model?! And if other companies distill their models, THEY are to be protected by laws?! Cry me a fucking river.

EU is bi-polar. Making some of the best regulations (GDPR, AI Act…) and then suddenly fucking people over with stuff like Chat Control.

Not all of us. Just a few actually. But not playing fair will always give them an advantage.

I think it’s important to note that these models are open-WEIGHT and not open-SOURCE. Open-source would mean we could explore the training data itself. Open-weight models are great, but please let’s not call them open-source.

The moments I have been disappointed by Linux were the moments I learned most about hardware and software.

Linux made me switch the WiFi card of my computer, which is something I’ve never done before and would have deemed “impossible”.

Linux is like a teacher that sometimes slaps you on the hands, but who is always helping you to expand your knowledge.

Just because a law mislabels something doesn’t mean we need/should follow that.

I want to use open-source software, developed from people for people. I don't want corporates to exploit my data and take away my freedom.

No idea. The whole copyright topic is a clusterfuck when it comes to LLMs. The matter of the fact is: most AI companies steal data to train their models and they don't care about licenses or copyrights.
