Nvidia doesnt have chip factories... they just tell TSM to make a different chip if they need to pivot

11 speeding and red light incidents... less than $1200???? Thats absurd.

11 separate incidents being caught doing behaviour that has an increased chance of killing/maiming someone.... and less than $1200 in fines to deter that???

this person has proven that they REGULARLY break the law in a dangerous way... and they still allow him to get behind the wheel every morning... and one day when he kills someone, they'll call it an "accident"

There's nothing accidental about allowing this person to operate a 3 ton weapon every day

Their healthcare is not tied to their jobs.

sure, if you dont care about your teeth, eyes, mental health, physiotherapy....

All tied to employment...

And before anyone jumps in here with "at least not as bad as america!!!".... thats exactly the kind of low bar thinking that landed us in this situation..

They overhyped the open world. I was expecting a living world, but everything was pretty dead. NPCs dont really react to anything or do anything.

I was (wrongly) expecting a living, breathing world like RDR2

I rarely use google, and i never tried redoing a search to see if the summary changes... i just assumed the summary was cached and re-used if you or someone else makes a similar search...

thats wild if they're burning up gpu time on EVERY query

We are fucked

Yeah, because watching people ACTUALLY beat each other into a bloody pulp is REAL entertainment for REAL men!!

Soap operas are stupid and not entertaining at all!

Number seems low to me....

People are using AI all the time without knowing it. Almost everyone is using the AI summary feature on every google search (i'm sure those summaries arent generated every time, so does it count as AI use if it's a re-used result?). There's probably a bunch of AI bullshit enabled on your phone you dont know about.

My guess would be closer to 90%... only a small minority of people are truly tech savvy enough to know what's going on under the hood, and truly dedicated 100% anti-AI to avoid using those sites/features.

I was a big WWF fan during the early 90s through to the early 2000s.

In hindsight, i'm less enthusiastic about the attitude era. Yeah, the swearing, the extreme matches. It was all cool as a kid, but doesnt really hold up as an adult when you consider the harms from the drugs and traumatic brain injury

The early 90s still hold up for me. Hulk hogan vs. Warrior, old-school undertaker, sgt. Slaughter vs. Iron sheik... the over the top characters are what really make it "sports entertainment" for me

and yes, i'm aware a lot of guys from that era turned out to be huge shitheads. I was devastated when i found out warrior went off the deep end.

I really avoid looking up the latest news about my childhood heroes these days... (please god, dont let undertaker or stone cold turn out bad....)

Steam singlehandedly stopped piracy overnight for me.

Developers were getting $0 from me before steam, and thousands of $$$ from me after steam.

The 30% cut is well worth it for developers, plus all the other services steam provides. Kids have no idea how buying, installing, modding, patching games used to be like.

You cant compare this to the apple app store

Name another platform that has gone 20 years without completely enshittifying itself.

We can start shitting on steam when they turn evil

I havent pirated a single game since i installed steam 20 years ago

There was a short period of time where netflix was good enough so i didnt pirate movies or tv shows either

It's 100% a service problem

Libraries would need more funding to operate extended hours...

Then people would complain about gov't spending and taxes. Then we would privatize the libraries

This is why we cant have nice things
