I'm sure it's just the demons talking.
Funny that 100 years later a bike looks basically the same. I mean, I know there are an awful lot of more subtle changes, including alloys, but other than the tires it looks pretty modern.
People do pass out from pain. 74 lashes is kind of insane. Like back in the day on ships, wasn't single digits most common?
But a 30 year old one wouldn't have bluetooth!
Hopefully no /s needed.
Isn't 74 like a crazy number? Like no one can stay conscious through that kind of number?
Yes, I was playing around.
Are you sure you aren't thinking of caning? I'm pretty sure that's exactly how Singapore does it, but it's a thin wooden rod, not a whip.
Seriously? Like they give her a couple lashes, let her go, then grab her off the street a week later and give her some more?
Sounds pretty close, though I'd go on the lower end for the crowns.
I actually think broccoli comes out better in the microwave. Less flavor leaches out and it's easier to get it perfectly done. A couple servings usually takes me 2 to 2.5 minutes. I just add a tablespoon or two of water to the container to help it steam.
Oh, k, yeah I didn't pick that up at all.
Sure, that's great, but when I boil broccoli I don't drink the water.
Oh, right, totally fine at 73
Early in my career I was a sysadmin for a multiuser system, and I often had to go to people's desks to troubleshoot problems they were having. That meant using whatever pointing device and keyboard they had. There were a crazy number of variations, including left handed setups of different types. It was actually an interesting part of the job. But yes, some left handed folks do that, as did some people who had issues with their right hand/arm.
I worked for 40 years at a place that mostly made rocket engines for NASA and the DOD; you probably wouldn't be surprised at the number of people who had this one on their wall. Probably also wouldn't be surprised at the number of family members who saw it and had to share it.
Here's the one conspiracy theory that always sticks with me because it explains everything. Putin's number one goal for decades has been to destabilize the United States. That's why Russian troll farms have posted things supporting both sides of decisive issues for ages. He doesn't care about the issue, just that Americans fight over them. Trump has been mixed up with the Russian Mafia since his real estate days, and Putin has a lot of dirt on him. Since becoming president, Trump has appointed people most likely to disrupt or destroy the organizations they're in charge of. The person who wants to get rid of the department of education gets put in charge of it. The person who doesn't believe in science and who believes junk conspiracy theories, gets appointed health and human services. Many more examples. The goal is to make the government fall apart.
So in that context, Hegseth doing this works either way. If he gets the military brass to fall in line and go against the Constitution, Putin wins. If he tries and the military brass goes against the commander in chief, Putin still wins. The goal is destabilizing the country and taking down the government.

I'm actually not seeing anything especially surprising here. Does anyone eat a bite of it and not immediately know it's got a ton of fat and sugar in it?
My wife always put an 'H' on the hardboiled eggs with a pencil to make sure they aren't confused with the raw. When my daughter was in elementary school, they were one of her favorite snacks. So when I'd make them, instead of the 'H' I'd draw a little something. I'm not any great artist, but I'd draw a butterfly or a cat or some silly face. I didn't realize for ages that they apparently became a sensation at school and the other kids always wanted to see the day's egg.
