School uniforms are a terrible concept in every way.
How is everything he says just such a gigantic PR disaster.
Both Lemmy and kbin are reddit-like link aggregators. They are to a extend straight copies of what reddit is now, or what reddit was in the past.
In the same way that Mastodon is without any doubt made to be like twitter.
It is only natural that people who liked aspects of reddit would want to see the same aspects here. That does not mean that we need to copy everything, we now have the chance to do things reddit did not.
I feel good on kbin
It's German me_irl but it also expects you to use akward versions of words where English words are commonly used, especially in the internet world but that makes it very funny.
kbin isn't ready
It isn't? Its rough, but since most hosting issues where solved its been a stable and nice experience.
kbin won't have the same engagement as Lemmy
Who cares, both are just ActivityPub and are compatible with each other.
the single kbin dev @ernest doesn't have enough time/skill
One ernest is better then 100 tankies.
it will never be as good as Reddit
Now that is clearly clownish, the bar is very low when it comes to being "as good as reddit"
Its a bad chromium fork with a crypto snowball scheme attached and some very scummy practices done.
You can simply not activate the "show nsfw" checkbox and you will never see that stuff in your feed
Proper tankie logic
Literally this, or the Web3 BS Bluesky.
Kbin is much more polished already. While lemmy is more or less a clone of old reddit, kbin is more like modern reddit just without the suck. Also, both are compatible.
Facebooks only reason to make Threads a ActivityPub compatible application is likely to not be considered a so called gatekeeper by the EU. That's all. No secret plot to destroy the fediverse.
The main thing I worry about is that Instagram users get into the fediverse, and they are just so incredibly bland. What kind of people think posting a picture of their face while being on some place is peak social interaction.
They did not answer to that question. But, lemmy.ml is run by the same tankies that develop Lemmy and also run lemmygrad so probably some tankie logic.
Hättest du SMS als 2FA? Das wurde zu einem Premium Feature für Twitter Blue.
The old internet was less corporate and more we, thats what we want back, not old UIs and Technologies.
And what did you write this on, a Android device or a iOS/OSX device?
Snap? It is fundamentally broken and Canonical shows zero interest in fixing that. Instead they try to patch applications to not be as awful when running via Snap.
Firefox is the best example, its a big application and suffers greatly from taking forever to start on Snap because of course the filesystem image is compressed, so it needs to be uncompressed, mounted and then firefox can start which is still slowed greatly due to snaps poor I/O performance.
A unpatched firefox took 30 seconds to start on Snap, they patched it to load only one language pack and some other small things, and now it starts in incredible 15 seconds.
Which is shit poor compared to the native firefox starting in one second and the flatpak starting in also one second. All on the same machine.
Snap is by far the most cruel joke out of canonical.
Flatpak has no such problems.

Something we really should not take to kbin and lemmy is mods like this, spez can keep such mods.
thanks for using Leebra!
