Google accounts for some 80%+ of Mozilla’s revenue. Firefox struck a different kind of deal with the devil than chromium browsers, but Google is the one pulling the strings.

The situation is shameful, but it’s wishful thinking that such actions will end in any other way than interest accruing, making the inevitable repayment even more expensive and difficult. The system is set up so you can’t run away from it.

wefwef is a fantastic option, at least until a native app surpasses it. Maybe wefwef can prove a web app can be as good as a native one — it’s certainly already impressive in its current state and it’s my app of choice for lemmy right now.
