If their budget is tight enough yeah a Linux build-your-own is likely the cheapest way to go. It probably won't be able to play high end games without getting close to the steam price point but you can go much cheaper and still play the majority of steam games.
I'm a data analyst by trade so rhetoric like that can fuck right off. You want to talk about loot box mechanics? Sure. But bullshit scare mongering descriptions like that have no place in reasonable discourse.
I imagine most of the more tech savvy people on Lemmy would scoff at this and say "Might as well build a PC" (me included, which I already did), but this is aimed at the consumers who do not have that skill set and are willing to pay that price point for a Steam gaming system /shrug
Shit I'll take that as a reason too and gladly back them for it.
Honestly that makes me like Steam even more. Any company that is willing to put up that much money to serve a niche market earns my respect. Sure they're doing it for the simple reason of Steam machine owners being guaranteed Steam gaming customers but it's still serving a subset of their customers like few companies do these days.
Sure, but they're one of the only companies proving that consumerism doesn't mean you have to be a complete asshole of a company. They make money, people get the product they want at a price point they are satisfied with.
Hmm, wrestling porn as in actual wresters who have done porn, or role playing where a woman is fighting a man and pins him and then has his way with them? Because... I would like to find that second one myself...
Indeed it is, and at some point I found myself too lazy to start switching off my fedinsfw alt, so here I am =-)
I also goon to characters from movies I've never seen! But I have heard nothing but good things about Zootopia.
Before reading this article and hearing the name "Harambe"?

After reading this article?

Hand to God thought this was an early makeup test for the Borg.
There is a frustratingly high percentage of posts on here of quite common experiences that are claimed as "autistic" experiences.
So many things when it comes to police stops. There is absolutely a problem with policing in America but there is a list of things you ARE required to do when stopped by the police, whether you agree with them or not, and refusing doesn't help you and only helps them. Yes you are required to have your license on you when driving, and yes you must display and/or hand it over to police when asked. Yes they can ask you to step out of the car. Yes they can search your car if they tow it. Hell watch a few videos on YouTube of traffic stops and you'll quickly figure out what you do and do not have to comply with. And you will never, ever win an argument with the police on the side of the road, save it for court.
Damn, I read that article describing the fingerprinting a week ago I think it was. That is some damn good turnaround from one of the few companies I still love.
I have been working with LLMs for decades. I know what they can do and what they can't. I admit they have grown in leaps and bounds in the last few years because of the hype, but therein lies the issue: there is still way too much hype, it's not the end all solution some think it is, it's driving up hardware prices, the environmental impact is horrendous, and it's a new bullshit business marketing term that serves only to artificially inflate stock prices. "Agentic" is the new "data driven".
No no, this makes sense. The world's opinion of us is already as low as it can possibly get, this can only help. Not likely but how much worse could it get?
thanks for using Leebra!
