A couple of people have spoken to me before about wanting to cut back on, or completely cut meat from their diets, but didn't know where to start. If anyone reading this feels the same way, here's some fairly basic recipies that I usually recommend (Bosh's tofu curry is straight up one of the best currys i've ever had - even my non-vegan family members love it)

Written:

• 'Butter' Tofu Curry (Written Recipe)
• Lentil Soup (Written Recipe)
• Caribbean Stew (Written Recipe)
• Sweet Potato & Cauliflower Curry Pies (Written Recipe)
• Afghan Kidney Bean Curry (Written Recipe)

• Wicked Lasagna (YT / Invidious)
• Smash Tacos (YT / Invidious)

Tofu is also super versatile and is pretty climate-friendly. there's a bazillion different ways to do tofu, but simply seasoning and pan frying some extra/super firm tofu (like you do with chicken) with some peppers and onions, for fajitas, is an easy way to introduce yourself. Here's a little guide for tofu newbies: A Guide to Cooking Tofu for Beginners - The Kitchn. If you wanna level up your tofu game with some marinades here's six.

Lentils and beans are also super planet friendly, super cheap, and super versatile! You'll be able to find recipies all over that are based around lentils and beans so feel free to do a quick internet search.

Sorry for the huge, intimidating wall of text! I do hope someone interested in cutting back on meat found this useful though :)

The sign doesn’t even mention the yummiest nutrient found in fish!! The microplastics 😋😋

“Threads will be off to a running start as it is built upon the Instagram platform with its massive user base and if users adopt Threads, advertisers will be following closely behind.”

Oh boy 😍 the advertisers are here, it’s a success! /s

The thing I’m liking the most about the fediverse so far is the lack of advertising, Lemmy and Mastodon (so far) have a much bigger emphasis on conversation and cool topics, and less on trying to sell us stuff which is really refreshing :)

For anyone reading who’s curious about iOS options, using Yattee with your Invidious or Piped instance of choice is a good way to go!

Those are pretty annoying, and 90% of them are brand new accounts created for the sole purpose of posting their fake story :|

psst, since you shared those videos I thought I'd share a cool resource. There's a website called kinderworld.org that has collections of videos on the egg industry, dairy industry, and meat industry. I hope you find this useful :)

XLD, Handbrake, Yattee, EmuDeck, IINA, and also Invidious like yourself :)

Edit: I would also like to add Pock!

It's not a new one, but I rewatched the 1998 film Dark City (IMDB/RT) 2 weeks ago and totally forgot how atmospheric it was. Whilst it takes it self seriously there's some pretty bizarre moments, I totally cracked up at a scene where one of the 'strangers' exclaims "HE CAN TUNE!" which is followed by a shot of a child stranger smiling and chattering their teeth (YouTube clip)

Does ESO have a 'story' you can play through? I've seen it pop up a few times over the years and all I know about it is that it can become a massive time sink haha.

You're welcome :) Also just a tip, when I updated my Plex library to add the albums it auto-matched a few of them and changed the artwork to generic pictures (2018 and 2019 did this I believe). Just click the three dots below the album and hit 'unmatch' if this bothers you!

Also new here, I believe the best way to link communities from across different instances is like this: !syncforlemmy@lemmy.world , (!communityname@instance.url) this should let anyone from any instance view the community from their home instance (and stay signed in)🙂👍

Hi, here's some that are based in the wilderness with supernatural elements and a few with some slasher elements in

• Mama (2013)
• Wrong Turn (2003) (the whole series is super goofy but it's great)
• Antlers (2021)
• Maybe Hell House LLC (2015)
• The Ruins (2008)
• Wilderness (2006)
• The Hole In The Ground (2019)
• The Boys From County Hell (2020)
• The Accursed (2022)

I can probably think of more, but these are what I found when scrolling through my plex history!

Also gonna throw in Virus (1999), not related to spooky woods or slashers or anything but it doesn't get enough love haha

Something I picked up in the summer sale was Space Haven (Steam) and it's really fun. Challenging, but fun. It's a nice mix of building, colony simulation, and resource management - and it's all in spaaaace!

I also picked up Death Road To Canada (Steam) for just under £3, planned on doing a few runs, but I'm currently 20 hours in and still not bored haha.

Aye, I have it set up on my server but haven't used plexamp before so I was just unsure. Works as expected :)

No way! Excited to use this, I hope it works with my last.fm plugin though.

just came over, fuck reddit 🫡

vegan btw

Holy shit Gizz Gator in the wild

Neat, thanks. I'll have to give it a go!

I'm considering getting Devour, Deep Rock Galactic, and maybe Dead by Daylight to play with my brother (I haven't played any of these before!) if anyone knows any cool, and perhaps spooky co-op games that are on sale, I'd absolutely love some suggestions! :)

Edit: Some fun co-op games we've played that are on sale are:

• Killing Floor 2 (-75% £4.99 / US$7.49 / €6.99)
• State of Decay 2 (-60% £9.99 / US$11.99 / €11.99)
• Escape Simulator -25% £9.74 / US$11.24 / €11.24)
• Dead Space 3 (-70% £5.39 / US$5.99 / €5.99)

We also played Inside The Backrooms which was pretty short but Escape The Backrooms looks similar and is 20% off at the moment, does anyone know how it compares? Thanks :)
