State government, the current chief is Saarani Mohamad.
And if you read the history of the company that wins this case, it has been on bad financial position for a long time and has changed ownership multiple times [1].
The company’s application was dismissed in October last year by judicial commissioner Bhupindar Singh. He said the monastery had demonstrated that they were not squatters and had a strong arguable defence to the eviction.
He also said there were triable issues as to whether they had occupied the land with the acquiescence of the company and state authorities.
Then, suddenly...
The Court of Appeal overturned his judgment.
A three-member bench of the Court of Appeal said the monastery had failed to raise any triable issue to prevent the grant of order.
The bench, comprising Justices Azizah Nawawi, See Mee Chun and Zaini Mazlan, later also rejected an application by the monastery for a stay of execution pending an appeal to the Federal Court.
However, the monastery’s management contested the application, contending that the company could only occupy a small portion of the land as the monastery’s monks have resided and occupied the area for more than 100 years.
They also asked for the application to be dismissed as the company had suppressed material evidence in their application by not disclosing to the court the fact that the land was occupied by the monastery.
Since then, the experiment hasn’t been successfully replicated by others yet.
Arxiv papers aren't peer reviewed, and if the experiment cannot be replicated, it most likely fraud, it is not uncommon in scientific communities to fabricate research results to secure funding and fame.
However, the first and second release of their publications could be the first and second draft of the paper that they intended to submit into some prestigious science journals. Usually, researchers submit the preprint version to Arxiv and at the same time to peer reviewed publication such as IEEE, ACM, however there is no guarantee for acceptance for the latter. And in this case, if it cannot be replicated, I supposed it won't get accepted.
If the team has indeed synthesized the LK-99, maybe sending the samples to other researchers will alleviate the concern of hoax, since it is cheap and easy to synthesize ?
A bit confused, are you ranting that the western media didn't cover enough during the wildfire season or you are pointing out the the local media only focusing on sensitive population in Malaysia ?
PAS protests and complains the Pesta Songkran to be held at a resort in Ipoh, citing it a religious insensitive issues. PAS and the organizer compromised and renamed the event [1] to, wait for it:
.
.
.
Between Zahid and Moo, we don't really have a choice, do we? But if you put PAS into the picture, depends on your ideology and political spectrum, it will be obvious. Moo also strangled with corruption cases, and the amount of embezzlement also on-par with Zahid if not greater; the number of charges, however, is leading by Zahid.
Then, we have the second coming of Iskandar Kutty...
It is just a move to gain popular votes from the people that are benefits from it, the Tabacco industry, the thousands of vape SME.
Maybe the government or the Ministry of Health should consider to impose law that if you are a smoker and or vaping on nicotine, you are not entitle for free/subsidized health care for life. The implementation can be as simple as using existing infrastructure like MySejahtera to register your smoking habit, you show your ID and scan every time your purchase a pack or any amount of nicotine, it aggregates the data and show the projection of the probability of your life expectancy, the more transactions the more less likely the government gonna lay eyes on you.
You made your decision to smoke, right ?
Nuclear energy is great only when we have the expertise and THE expertise to maintain, operate and especially handling the nuclear waste. NYTimes runs a piece on Taiwan nuclear waste dump [1], and why Taiwan is moving away from the nuclear energy is interesting to read (especially France reneged the agreement when Taiwan signed the deal with them to reprocess the waste [2]), it is just one of the many cases where nuclear energy is not the answer for all. Where do we dump our nuclear waste if we were to setup nuclear reactors, next to Prime Minister Office, Putrajaya, maybe ?
Wait..., I have an idea, Gua Musang in Kelantan or somewhere in Pahang might be ideal since there are ample of lands to re-propose for other usages despite the state government totally ravaging and deforest them for short-term profit. It is at least benefiting the peninsular if it is for energy bill, so to speak. Definitely not sarcastic. For East Malaysia, obviously not an issue, the current and former Chief Ministers there probably not knowledgeable enough to comprehend the opportunity to setting up nuclear waste land. When they learn about this potential and opportunity to make money, they will announce big projects.
I suggest mods to spent less effort on the other platform, and focus on here. Post some exclusive contents here, lure monyets from r/malaysia here and ditch the r/malaysia.
Viral, controversial, exclusive contents here not r/malaysia, maybe that will stick, I stopped using reddit since July 1, mods also need to show determination for changes.
The way i see is Reddit is becoming the Digg, Slashdot...and Yahoo.
Someone should put a decree: arrest the four MBs. They are testing water to gauge the limits.
I want to see racist corrupt Mahiaddin Yassin in orange uniform.
Rumor has it his faction intended to field a different candidate for Penang Chief Minister if they won the state election, perhaps it was fueled by the opposition making public statement not long ago. Also, the former deputy chief minister P. Ramasamy was also dropped from the name list in coming state election. He has been vocal even towards his own party and maybe because of that, it has since become a liability for his gone too far from the party direction attitude.
And Chow wants a second term, and he promised this will be his last election. LGE also defending his position in Air Putih Constituency in this state election. I can see certain faction will think the possibilty of LGE comes back as Chief, although I don't think he will.
Chow for second term is reasonable, but the 2028 state election, maybe Gobind Singh Deo, but he has tasted the power in federal, it will be a downgrade, maybe one of his brothers.
马哈低统治的马来西亚是必须以车为主的,他和成功的把大家推下了这个坑。

Let's take a look at the background of this project [1].
Project announced in 2007 during former PM Badawi administration, opened on 2018, after 11 years since the announcement.
Modeled after KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur.
The entire project was divided into eight phases, of which the second, third and fourth phases comprised a shopping complex, three office blocks and a 36-storey hotel respectively.
Project awarded to Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) and Perlaburan Hartanah Bumiputera Berhad.
**Veritas Architects was put in charge of the design works. **
3 major pieces:
Main building is owned by MRCB.
Butterworth station is owned by KTMB.
Ferry Terminal is owned by Prasarana.
The project suffered repeated delays. Land acquisition became the main stumbling block, as the parcels of land earmarked for the development were owned by several parties, namely the Malaysian federal government, the Penang state government, highway concessionaires and Keretapi Tanah Melayu, the national railway operator. As a result, construction of Phase 1 of Penang Sentral only began in earnest in 2015.
I can see why the delay and disconnect or even disagreement on the entire design but the decision maker could possibly went ahead and all stake holders worked in silos. Penang state government and the federal government has always been on disagreement, just see the unnecessary second bridge that nobody uses.
I looked up Veritas Design Group at Linkedin, select the 'People' tab, and scroll to the right and look at 'Where they studied' [2]. What do you think, is that 'that bad' ?

I guess I would, I am rocking a kurt cobain, mitsui haircut right now... when I walked into a washroom, people often look at me twice.

NO one said vaping is a safe alternative to smoking.
So why are we now legitimising vaping when we are taking steps to introduce an anti-smoking law?
Currently, the law regarding the possession, distribution, and advertisement of electronic smoking devices (ESD) is too loose, allowing underage citizens to freely buy the products either at physical stores or online platforms.
Youths and children are easily attracted to ESD, commonly known as vapes, as they perceive the device as “the lesser evil”, cool and “harmless”.
Long story short, the move is viewed as a giant-ass obvious eyesore trojan horse for the Generational Endgame Bill which aims to stop and prevent smoking and vaping among children and teenagers, our future generations.
The former two times Premier, current and former champion of race-based parties, a political mogul that used his power to enrich himself and his family has been doing an exceptional jobs to corner every single non-bumi and forced them to create a self-identity that distance themselves from the utter racist population.
He was in power for several decades, yet he claimed the very ethnic that he represent and protecting them are still living in poverty even though with all the help, affirmative actions and privileges, and in total control of the public sector, the elites in all GLC; the delusional speeches of him are beyond a metric system that one can measure.
But hey, it works. You believe him, right ? ...right ? Fellow [redacted] ?
He has a list of court cases to attend. I think one is abuse of power and corruption involved his office and administration on mining. He had his scrotum on the butcher's countertop, probably hairy, unshaved, smelly, exposed.
When you have been exposed for your weaknesses, you made up lies and act like a saint. He is bending and giving a blowjob or maybe licking someone's turmeric fluids.
It was discussed in Hacker News [1], I think on the contrary, it is very difficult to replicate...if it is true at all...
"Sukbae Lee and Ji-Hoon Kim hit the first sample (the prototype of LK-99) in 1999 trying to prove the theory of their professor Choi Dong-Shik. Around 2017 YoungWan Kwon joined to the team and they got investment enough for to buy an SQUID and a EPR. In 2020, L and K hit with LK99. They tried to submit a paper to Nature, but was rejected. They contacted with HyunTak Kim after read his 2021 paper (the one you point), and HyunTak Kim joined to the team."
"By the looks of it, to me this is just the once in 5 years rumor cycle. The authors have been working on it for a long time and have been rejected by Nature. Other co-authors have said they weren't consulted before uploading the paper. The author who uploaded had to give a talk, and for whatever reason uploaded it on Arxiv before uploading, and didn't expect it would blow up like it has. For official confirmation of room temp superconductor, I would rather go with a big publishing journal group organising a press conference before paying any attention."
"Been following this very closely. Seems like the one takeaway is that whatever material this is, it's interesting. It's also difficult to synthesize in bulk, which is a shame because superconductivity is not easy to observe in non-bulk materials (think: powder)."
"The variables that lead to its formation are not all accounted for yet. The process is understood, but it doesn’t always work. So there must be something missing every now and then."
