In other astonishing news, water is wet and we've fucked up this planet.

I remember when rec.arts.disney split. There was the voting process whether to split as well as a vote to how it would split, if I remember correctly. I hadn't thought about that in years.

Alt was the free for all. I learned a lot on alt.atheism, including how threads devolve into chaos and when to walk away.

Thanks fubo, I feel super old now.

I've heard that before. Feel like it's not actually her quote.

Why does his face remind me of the Phantom of the Opera? Maybe there will be an unfortunate chandelier falling incident.

RAGE. In the middle of a busy road. So they wanted the poor baby dead but were too fucking cowardly to do it themselves. I hate people. Have your pets spayed or neutered, folks.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that you saved him. I just hate irresponsible pet owners and people who are that callous towards the life of an innocent creature.

I think mine is 13. Might have to try to get banned myself! Wonder if there's a pic of John Oliver holding a ban hammer.

Oof. Socks are generally not considered a beginner's project, I'm afraid. Turning the heel and stitching the toe together at the end are easier done once you have a bit of comfort with what you're doing. You don't have to be an expert, though; even a couple of dishcloths could get you well on your way.

There's not a specific name for it in the way you're thinking. If you're looking at object A, then object B is next. One could say that object C is "the one after that," but it's also just as common to say third. Anything larger than two (for this one and next) gets unwieldy and English just uses the number. It wouldn't be the next 100th, simply the 100th. Spoken aloud, the "one" is dropped and it's said as "the hundredth." Usually, that is. You wouldn't be incorrect in adding "the" because English likes to make up its own rules.

I really hate that you're dealing with this. Having to fight to get doctors to listen to you is fucking exhausting. Having to prioritize a list of problems that all suck because you only have the energy to deal with one or maybe two is fucking exhausting. It just doesn't stop. 🤬

Oh gods, my fluffy dumbass does this, too. Not getting attention? He'll walk over to the Lego and just raise a paw. Not enough? Swipe and knock a minifig flying. If that doesn't work he just jumps onto the art table and sends pens everywhere.

Even when carrying him around like a baby (are there any gingers who actually enjoy being carried or held like a normal cat?) if he thinks my attention isn't sufficiently on him he'll reach one paw up and tap me on the nose for boops. See if I ever teach him anything else.

Yes! I'm talking and making perfect sense, then it slowly dawns on me that what I'm talking about was actually what I was just dreaming and not reality. Even though I know what happened, it leaves me confused as all hell.

I've been wondering how you were doing. Hopefully this will help something at least! I finally got to see the movement disorder specialist and he decided my muscle tremors were a side effect from medication. That I've been on for years and haven't changed recently. bangs head against wall Back to square zero! I really hope this works out for you. Keep us posted.

I agree with you that if the OP had used the word happiness instead of spiritual there wouldn't be any confusion.

Perhaps it comes from the difference in whether one believes in a soul or not? I'm not sure. Honest question, not trying to fight or argue, could you clarify for me what you're taking issue with?

Do you mean "spiritual" as actually feeling a connection with the rest of all life, or understanding that each person is a tiny speck in an incomprehensibly vast universe, or imagining a connection with a personal deity, or imagining a connection with the dominant deity of the area, or feeling a peaceful satisfaction of connecting with yourself?

Religious people are likely to experience a different interpretation of the word spiritual than non-religious people. The use of the word spiritual at all will likely turn off a large part of the audience.

There is no spiritual world, so all spiritual experiences are occurring only in one's mind. Whether they're troublesome or not can depend on whether the observer agrees with the delusion or not. If a person's delusion aligns with the dominant religion of the area, then chances are good that most of the observers will not consider the delusions to be problematic.

I hadn't even seen that set yet. For me, ship builds are just a LOT of grey. I love the finished product but I like to be working on something else at the same time so I can take a break from it here and there. I have The Justifier sitting here waiting next in my to build queue but I'll probably end up pausing and building a little set in the middle.

Love the set, though.

Omg. I've never come across someone else with my same weird body shit. I'm about to pick your brain.

The full body twitches. What the hell is that‽ It started with just my legs and only when laying down. At this point it's gone to my entire body, when I'm relaxed. Not to be confused with when I suddenly realize that every muscle is super tense. I've done scans of my entire back, normal other than two degenerate discs. Blood work, normal. Thyroid, normal. Nerve conduction tests, normal. I have an appointment with a movement disorder specialist next month. Wtf is this? Or anything I should specifically check for? I'm so damn tired of going from one doctor to another to get the same damn answer: they don't know.

I'm really sorry the spinal tap has put you in hell.
