The country with over 20% of the world's prison population and a highly militarised police force that routinely carries out extrajudicial killings of ethnic minorities is not ever described as "authoritarian". Somehow.

Show me anywhere in the world that has open Nazi units serving in the military.
Show me anywhere in the world that openly celebrates Nazis as national holidays.
Show me anywhere in the world that renames streets, shopping malls, stadiums after Nazis.
Show me anywhere in the world that runs Nazi indoctrination camps for children.
I can show you all of these for Ukraine.
Over to you. Darling.
My experience with anarchists since the start of this war has completely destroyed any faith I had in it being any kind of honestly held or principled ideology. It's simply a set of excuses for liberals to pretend they're progressives and nothing much more. Jumping from one American imperialist propaganda point to the next seamlessly, from Libya to Xinjiang, Taiwan to Ukraine. It's just a right wing Libertarian's idea of what a leftist is.
Basically, can anybody give me a resource for the anarchist perspective that debunks why, with still a class society, it’s fine to do smash the state day 1 after the revolution?
Nobody can give you this because it's an idealistic nonsense. But you're asking the wrong people anyway. You should ask in an anarchist lemmy. I predict that they won't be able to respond except with dishonesty and self delusion.
As a means, it's good. As an end, it's bad.
It's a nothing argument really. Some people are just making blog posts pretending that those who "support multipolarity" are going to claim Mission Accomplished once it's there and never be active again.
I watched this in the cinema with about 5 or 6 friends when it came out. All of them thought it was terrible because it was "praising of militarism" or something. None of them got the satire dripping from every frame. I was dumbfounded.
In later years I found out that this is a phenomenon with not only the movie, but the book too. There's some kind of cognitive disconnect, some inability to see, for what is glaringly obvious to others, the bald fact of the sarcasm and parody of the USA and fascism going on here.
Here is a perfect example of us fucking up like this.
We have to be calm and mature and assume good faith until it's clearly been demonstrated that there's none. Even those people are not beyond saving. We're the adults in the room after all.
Good catch, I should have posted some.
thanks for using Leebra!
