"Flip a coin. When it's in the air, you'll know which side you're hoping for." - Arnold Rothstein in Boardwalk Empire

You’re awesome, thank you

I still wear a mask but its the fact that others don't think logically about this stuff still that has me most up in arms. Dad has been sick since weekend, mom says I'm going to come over to your house to see her grandkids. Mom comes over and 4 hours later they call me to tell me they both have covid and tested positive. Mom tells me that dad had been sick since weekend....in my head im fuming.

fingers crossed. Just hoping since she wasn't sick, that our 1 hour visit will spare my fam somehow.

Our house has all gold colored fixtures and normal knobs.

I got really fed up with having to drop everything to open the garage door that I purchased a black lever type knob so now can open the door with my elbow/foot/bags

Doesn’t match anything else in the house right now but it’s my single favorite change I’ve made to our house

Thank you for this, one part I'm still struggling with and would appreciate help...

How do I subscribe to a community that is on another instance and have it show up on my account? Example - I have an account here at lemmy.world, but there's https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/piracy community and I'd love to see their posts in one place on my lemmy.world account. How do I do this? If I navigate to that link, it asks me to create a lemmy.dbzer0 account to subscribe so i dont think i'm following the correct pathway

eta - nevermind i figured it out. going to leave my comment here for others though

so what you have to do is search for that community on your own instance and then select it and subscribe that way. Can't follow the link directly to the instance, but rather have to search using lemmy.world's search and follow the link from there. So for instance: https://lemmy.world/c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

(if there's a more straightforward way, i'd still appreciate tips)

Most these guys get paid in stock options.

They likely request it to be timed this way to get more shares of the company off the back of the bad news dump.

It’s like insider trading but on the buy side soo not as likely to be investigated.

I've done things along this line too many times since having kids lol

Worst lately was trying to get a juice box for the kid and intending to throw away the straw wrapper but instead throwing away the straw and being left with a kid pissed at having no straw to drink her juice box

underrated part about attending Indian weddings is getting to wear colorful attire

from the thumbnail, thought it was the Simpsons car haha

hahaha so many fans of every fanbase have

on a diff note - how do you see the lineups panning out? I just dont think he compliments Curry defensively at all, and offensively, dont know that him & dray both out there together trying to both be mid-range merchants is worth it. Is CP3 exclusively a 2nd unit player then? Basketball wise i dont really like this move

Hire a permanent live-in nanny so wife and I could sleep soundly and stress less.

That’s first, the rest I would take time and decide and tell no one except the wife

Man, I wish I could say the same about medical device professionals. I left this job but I was a sr engineer under a manager who has been working in med devices for 30+ years.

Back when the whole hydroxychloroquine thing was being spouted by Trump, manager who has TONS of experience about why the FDA does testing and safety testing in medicine, would regularly tell us that we should demand our doctors give us hydroxychloroquine and we should take it along with multiple vitamin D pills a day, etc. he would tell us how he’d NEVER been sick despite us all knowing he was the type who came in constantly with a cough/sneeze fit.

He also had a bunch of idiotic takes on the 2016 election (I escaped before getting to hear his 2020 versions).

He was a shitty manager but the FDA thing was the one area where I was like “damn you’re even idiotic in our area of expertise”. He wasn’t the only one there who was a MAGA dope either unfortunately

Hey…uh need more friends?

Not quite the same, but my wife bought me one of those silicon rings for $35 because I was finding the metal one from our actual wedding to be too uncomfortable.

Love it and only thing I’m annoyed about now is how much I spent on the original ring vs this awesome cheap ring.

how the f does Gabe from Melvin Capital have money for this after the whole Gamestop saga?

Arsenal is making some great moves already.

maybe they dont want to sell him at all and he himself hasn't expressed a desire to move on

Think from their perspective - Osimhen led the club to their first Serie A title since 1990 and led them further in the Champions League than ever before. What's the price tag for that type of club success? Selling him for 100m gets you like 2, maybe 3 solid players but you're still likely short of his goal production.

As an example- Jack Grealish and Villa. They bought Ings, Bailey, and Buendia with the 100mil and none of those 3 have been worth a damn really and Ings was already sold off at a loss. Recruitment is hard and when you have a bonafide star and he's not actively asking to be transferred, put whatever damn price he's actually worth to you on his head versus what all the big clubs want to actually pay. There's zero obligation that you HAVE to sell to bigger clubs.

fwiw though - i saw their new contract they're offering him has a 160mil release clause, not 180

I still remember the incredible PK shifts from him in the playoffs with Detroit

Just found them on YouTube actually - https://youtu.be/HSr1i4AUnYA

I would be in on this idea, but personally would prefer it be something that was done over Signal or another chat system versus a lemmy with posts that stay up for anyone to come across and see.

Aston Villa!

supporting them since 2008ish from the US. They had a player that went to UNC on their squad (Eric Lichaj) when i was picking a premier league team and ive stuck with em through relegation and promotion. Been a wild and fun ride
