@Acester47 @dylan, Reddit by default send userdata to Alphabet (Google), Amazon, ComScore and TowerData (known to use even keylogging to profile users). That is, what you write on Reddit is known by most advertising companies, along with your account data. Enshittification is falling short.

@starman @Blastasaurus, when i went to school we used paper, ruler and pencil (FOSS)

@Spudwart @lolcatnip, wrong, Chromium is FOSS and every browsercompany is free to gutt it out and modify it to their like, it's not more controlled by Google than Gecko with several Google devs working in Mozilla on Firefox.
The Problem is Google itself with it's imperialistic behavior in internet, not which browser you use. This is precisely why he invented this WEI crap, because previous attempts to control it through Browser engine APIs didn't work.

@SeaJ @TheBlue22, although there are participants from the extreme left on Lemmy.ml, it is a good site. I prefer, like anyone oriented to the left of the political spectrum with a social ethic, this field than one oriented to the extreme right and fascist, of the social networks that we all already know. You can argue with those on the left, with the fascists it's not possible, in any case, if you don't like it, just ignore or block the corresponding instance.

@DogMuffins @amycatgirl, it is not so simple, there are a huge number of third-party pages that also depend on certain Google services, directly or indirectly. This is what happens when you depend on sponsors, because with this you lose your freedom of decision, especially if you make a pact with the devil, sorry, Google.
Mozilla has already suffered this in its own flesh, becoming a Google mascot from an independent platform, even with Google devs working on Firefox.

@NotSpez, they are happy about this, since with the rise in temperatures new navigable and exploitable routes are opened by the melting ice at the poles, new developable lands due to forest fires, giving strong impulses to the pharmaceutical industry due to the increase in diseases and ancient viruses released from the permafrost, water becomes a lucrative business...

@Cypher @Lord_McAlister@lemmy.world....and lethal

@ajsadauskas @green, you have to understand, bottled oxygen is going to be a good business.

@notenoughbutter @Resol, and WebKit is a fork from KHtml made by the German KDE.
Blink is the most used engine, because it's the most compatible with current web standarts, even somewhat more than Gecko. If Apple's Safari insist in it's WebKit, the most outdated engine, it's become the new IE in a near Future.

@fresh @sudo22, it seems to me that he is going to have to wash the dishes, possibly with the Tupperware of tomato sauce as the final Boss.

@Rod_Orm @Elbullazul, in Lemmy with the Image icon, or inserting an imageUrl with Markdown, in Mastodon uploading an image or video with the paperclip icon.

@antidote101 @narwhal, the self-defense of monopolies, when their empire begins to collapse.

PS , apart of the adblock this will also help in YT

@robocall @Console_Modder, some if they like this huge litterbox

@Clanket @darcy, with the more and more appearance of electric cars, the gear change is going to disappear anyway, not necessary in electric motors

@dingus @raresbears, or worst, spend money to find out that the game don't work in your PC.
Piracy is one possibility, but other is to look for good Giveaways, which are often in Steam or GOG. Also some very good free games out there, like this one (one of my favorite of all time).

@Int @fossilesque, scary rather the shame we experience when they ask us to bring them to our leader

@fuser @Lem0n, the only AI I most use and which is really useful for me is Andisearch.

@ajsadauskas @fuck_cars, Air pollution as a cause of global warming is even more outrageous, if we know some facts that increase the desire to find out, how long some politicians and lobbyists can last hanging by their reproductive glands.

Some historical facts:

@GeekFTW @agame, or simply avoid to use the YT site, using eg. this

@drekly, simple ads are not a problem, if they are based on the content of the page and not based on user logs. Ads as is only can be somewhat annoying if there a lot in the page or they appears in the middle of a concert in YT, but no are a risk for the user privacy, no more than a commercial poster in the street or an ad in TV. As with all, bad the abuse. Years ago you saw 1-2 banners in a page, but novadays you must seek the webcontent between advertisings, banners, cookieadvices and popups
