I still have my suspicions about how that 49% is being measured, because if it counts any 'use' then technically using most search engines is using an LLM regardless of wether you want to or not, a lot of people are now also forced by their employers regardless of wether they want to or not.

Its basically a phyric victory machine, the act of using it destroys anything of value in the territory gained including the abiltiy to even use the space itself.

I get dreams of finding items of 'nonspecific sentimentality' like I'll find a secret loft in my childhood home filled with boxes of old stuff that all feels like its my old stuff that I miss dearly but even in the dream I'll never be able to pinpoint any single item that belonged to me or that I actually miss, despite having a general feeling of nostalgia and like the childhood toy I loved is just in the next box.

It's honestly kind of creepy like some kind of sentiment/nostalgia angler fish.

Starmer was a human rights lawyer and he's spent his term systematically dismantling peoples rights, a 180 is apparently the standard.

Especially Cyberpunk 2077 With just a ton of difficulty mods + Night city alive (random gang vs gang fights) and re-inforcements so they can turn into full on gang wars. Makes the game feel way more alive though sadly V still has too much accumulated protagonist privalige by the middle of the game.

Only loosing 3x more than they make!? That's a gigantic success by modern standards.

Even if that's true its not odds I'd take on anything that costs money or that could be potentially dangerous.

On the other hand how effective is the US military really? Its got a lot of fancy toys but sure did just fall flat on its face despite what should have been overwhelming advantages.

Why not add some secondary side pools joined by underground channels with some very gentle induced flow beneath the surface? Those side pools could act like like living filters and bring some wildlife to boot.

Nah Ukraines drones are cheap and effective, I think the Lockheed Martin upper management would start puking in horror if someone lower down went over their head and started selling drones like that to the US military. So much potential profit lost to a lack of price gouging or regular software updates or a whole interconnected smart system thats needed for the drones to even work and mostly just gets in the way.

That's possible but I don't see the US army being super jazzed about going full imperialism either, maybe Cuba and Mexico might be initially tolerable but the latter is liable to turn into a horrific meat grinder which the population (rightfully) has never taken well in the United States. Every other option is either culturally a US ally or very far away which is a problem because US logistics are nowhere near as overhwelming without international support, or both.

iirc the experiment was verifying that anti-matter falls downward in gravity? otherwise it still functions physically rather like time-reversed matter. Unless anti-matter is time-reversed and has reversed gravity in which case it would also seem to obey normal gravity because we would see it under the effect of anti-gravity but backwards?

Been on linux full time for under a week, I'd say linux is more like.
"I have issue"
"Here's 10 extremely techincal solutions that will take you hours to work through and may not work"
"I still have issue"
"Oh yeh there's just a button you can press that fixes it instantly"

On the bright side thats more my own lack of familiarity than anything and once an issue is fixed it stays fixed and generally works a lot more cleanly than if I had a similar issue on windows where fixes are always kind of cludgey.

The danger of that now you potentially have a civilization trillions of years more advanced than yourself in that computer that may not be content to stay there which may result in a massive forced migration up the stack. You hit enter and suddenly an infinite number of digitized intelligences are trying to invade baseline reality.

Honestly at this point there are only a handful of headlines that cover about 90% of news stories:
-Young people 'choose' lifestyle choice that was forced upon them by external conditions.
-Young people are 'killing industry' that they are not paid enough to even dream of participating in.
-Rich person/people found guilty of or admitted to enormous crime will go unpunished.
-Someones totally unqualified opinion on a subject that we're reporting as news because they're rich.
-World ending, shareholders rejoice.

We made everything super expensive and created a toxic work culture that weighs on your every waking moment while cutting salaries so that both people in a relationship need to work full time... why is no one having kids?
