Yeah object permanence is not strong with mine either. She'll go into another room, forget I exist, scream, I respond, she's like, "Oh hey, you're right where I left you!"
Tiny fuzzy airhead.

I call in a refill on my prescription. It takes them 4 years to fill it. Then they text me every five seconds for the next three days until I pick it up, threatening to throw it into the fires of Mordor if I forget.
"Jeffrey Combs"
I'm dead 😂
Thank you for acknowledging that billionaires existing is a political problem. Glad we can agree
Syringes getting stabbed into the necks of unwilling people is my niche pet peeve.
I'm a critical care nurse lol. There's no anatomy in a neck to receive an injection. There's not enough muscle mass, and you're not hitting a jugular vein without a person's full cooperation and a helluva lot of skill with IV injections. There's a nontrivial chance that you're just going to inject the medication into a person's trachea or esophagus, or worst case scenario directly into their spine.
Arms, people. Arms are where we inject people who don't want to be injected. Right through the clothes, if need be.
Peripherally related: Why are all needles used in movies like 2-3 inches long? No one uses needles that large for anything in the real world.
Right? This tweet screams, "Be just like me! Avoid therapy and slowly lose everything in your life including the last shred of your dignity."
No, I think conservatives who think they want to cosplay as soldiers are exactly the people who need to see what their fantasies would really look like, if brought to fruition. I think the ad placement was deliberate and the movie is intended to be a shock lesson for all people, but especially these ones.
And then they blame it on the Democratic president, so...yes.
Homeopathic products contain zero dose of active ingredient, not even a microdose
I was honestly onboard right up to the point that Thor cracked jokes immediately after learning that his people's children had been kidnapped. That should have been the moment we pivoted back to Thor the hero. For Thor to be that unserious in that moment just felt really out of character, even for wacky/funny Thor, which is a character I love personally.
I think Ragnarok struck a much better balance between funny Thor and hero Thor.
Not even that though. Like if my chronic medical condition is adequately treated, I'm able to work, be productive, pay taxes, contribute to the economy, hopefully contribute to my community.
But that would eat into an insurance company's profits, therefore they'd rather opt to let me die and replace me with a new unit that can pay premiums longer without needing any actual medical care.
The only entity that has a positive financial incentive to pay for the medical care that keeps me healthy is the government.
Medicare for All, now.
It's illegal to ask you not to discuss wages in the United States. Violation of federal labor law.
The rising of the sea is astronomically slow, so there's a lot of denial about it. It's already a minor (maybe moderate?) problem here on the east coast of the US. Boston, NYC, and Miami are already seeing more flooding during storms than they saw historically.
But if there's someone who is willing to pay for a waterfront property despite the risk, then there will always be someone willing to sell it to them.
But here in Boston, we're finally starting to see new construction projects taking future sea level rise into account: https://www.baysideupdate.com/...
Everyone being photographed is supposed to say cheese because the shape of the word mimics a smile. Why did you think people said cheese? Lol
The point better explained in the book and kind of glossed over in the movie is that Fayd and Paul both about equally fit the characteristics of the Kwisatz Haderach that the Bene Gesserit were trying to breed. They were sort of shadow images of each other, and it was a real coin toss which one would win that fight and show himself to the the real KH.
Ok this is actually adorable though
Don't pretend like it's impossible to tell the actual difference between those things. It's not all subjective. Words have meaning and people are capable of perceiving the motivations of others accurately.
I just jumped over to world because of all this. That makes my third instance in less than a year after leaving kbin.social for startrek land a few months ago. Lemmy is a little exhausting.
Poor guy. A bright city is no place for a big owl.
I love how even exploring they can't stay away from each other
