In fact it is surprisingly unimpressive on a technical level. An Arch-based Linux distribution with the Hyprland tiling window manager. That's it. The developer has grovelled to Musk and friends leading to rivers of gold flowing in. It's everything that's wrong with the US and tech billionaire oligarch class in general.

So my non scientific understanding is this affects the business operations of VPN providers mostly and server deployment less. I assume PsiPhon, Windscribe and others move their billing to a less draconian jurisdiction.

Got to say, damn, I just subscribed to Windscribe recently to circumvent authoritarian Australian government surveillance ...

A sobering statistic:

Trump won with the support of just 75 million votes in a country with 335 million citizens.Ā

In other words, just 22 percent of the US citizens decided to drive the country off a cliff, and everyone else is now going down with them.

More accurately, its preparation for martial law in November. Any US citizen who thinks there will be free and fair elections is not paying attention. The regime are not leaving power willingly.

Time is running out for nation wide general strikes ..

Motorola have announced a partnership with Graphene OS, a Canadian company. If the models Moto ships are semi affordable I would jump at that.

As A long time Linux user I couldn't agree more. My son, who likes to game with me, was handing down his 'old' nvidia cards such as a 3070, so I put up with years of nvidia's crap. A couple of months ago I ripped out his 'old' 3070 and put in a new XFX brand AMD RX 7600. Works out of the box and plenty fast for HD resolutions. Why did I waste years of my life fighting with nvidia nonsense on Linux??

Waze has a toggle called ā€˜avoid difficult intersections’.

Additionally, Waze has crowd sourced real time traffic hazard reporting (every Waze user can contribute).

The regime has detailed plans (which were published) to subvert the election in cooperation with ally states. The regime has poured obscene amounts of money into arming a masked militia of 'federal agents', currently murdering & disappearing dissenters, with impunity.

The closing gambit in the face of inevitable major dissent is to provoke violence and use it as an excuse to declare martial law which includes suspension of Habeas Corpus.

The corporate captured Democrats are not going to save you.

Welcome to dictatorship.

Completely ceding software development to automation. Repeat across all fields of knowledge.

As data centers recycle and churn through past human input this will be the death of human progress.

Problem for Linux on phones is ARM limitations require a unique device tree for every OS deployed per device.

When I retire to Asia next year I'm considering just getting one of those simple feature phones sold in India which has Firefox OS. Limit myself to Vox/SMS/Email.

I'm showing my age but I fondly remember those lipstick case Nokia's from back in the day. Couldn't get much smaller than that.

CrowdStrike support appear to be incompetent for such a mission critical software. Given the big $£€„ companies pay for this, I would think some serious law suits must be in the pipeline for breach of contract?

3gb of ram is always going to deliver a sub par experience. Set your limit at phones with 4gb ram as a minimum.

Having said that, Motorola has traditionally done a lot with the available ram on their devices, its just that Android is becoming more ram hungry with each successive iteration.
