Good riddance
My opinion is it’s just the data, Meta is all about collecting data. Being part of the fediverse means they potentially get access to a bunch of data through scraping and user interactions.
For example someone might not follow a gardening account on instagram/Facebook but they might join a gardening community. That’s valuable data.
They can also boast about the new technology. Maybe they hope it will revive the meta verse lol
I’ve got like 4 downloaded right now
I loved part 1, it was such a refreshing movie in terms of storytelling, writing, cinematography. Super excited for part 2
I second this opinion.
However I don’t recommend Brave Browser, it’s CEO Brenden Eich is publicly anti-LGBT (https://www.theguardian.com/...) which is a view that I find often is contrary to privacy and personal freedom.
Brave has also been caught a few times whitelisting ads and pushing shady crypto deals so I also just don’t trust them regardless.
Ditch chromium if you can, use Firefox, help preserve the free web
“By nightfall these hills will be swarming with bots”
Just baaaaaaarely made it with all that text
Yup, I opened a GitHub issue and they said they’ll push the update today to fix
Stealing this to put on lotr_memes lol
I agree, I just can’t wait until more niche people transfer over and the communities rebuild
A slightly older flagship will probably be your best bet, look for pixels since they get long update support. My partner even has a pixel 3a that still runs great and takes great pictures (though no security updates)
I’ve also noticed this, planning on creating an issue on GitHub if there isn’t one already. The issue doesn’t occur on wefwef or Mlem
Movies can be cliche and still be good and refreshing. A simple story structure often allows for a great narrative and interesting character moments
Had me worried for a second
I’ve never heard of the trove before, what is it?
That’s a very good point, I had forgotten that. Anomander has a good perspective on this too in a different reply
thanks for using Leebra!
