"After a Friday evening celebrating Lunar New Year with close friends, Chao decided to drive back to the main house on the ranch around 11:30 p.m., the Journal reported."

I wonder if she had been drinking.

"According to the Journal's account, Chao told her friend that she had put her car in reverse instead of drive — a mistake she had made before — leading her to back over an embankment and into the pond."

Tesla removed the shift stalks from X and *S models in 2021 in favor of the car guessing which direction you want to go, with the option to override on the touchscreen.

Edit: Originally stated Y by mistake. Chao was driving an X when the incident occurred.

She writes that many Democratic voters are “demoralized” about the Supreme Court and blame President Joe Biden for the abortion decision since it happened on his watch.

What kind of moron thinks the sitting President has any say in how the supreme court decides? I mean maybe a bit if that President has appointed a new Justice, but even then, not really.

That stat came from an article that made the rounds a few weeks ago that cited a phone survey of 1000 or so kids in one small part of the US. Small, poorly controlled sample size, so bad data.

This is me but with anti-car urbanism. Ever since I discovered Not Just Bikes, my feed has more and more videos showing how much better life can be if we shut off car brain and build for medium density with mixed use zoning and multi-mode infrastructure.

Listen, if you believe that, then you also know that you just have to tell your local representative of Jesus that you did a bad and are really sorry and you're back in the heaven club.

Or, you realize that the whole concept is nonsense and there is no heaven and no hell.

Either way, fucking is great and you should do it premaritally to the max extent. Just remember to use protection, kids!

ITT: People who need to learn about document fire safes.

They're like $30 and will keep your passports, birth certificates, and social security cards from burning up.

You're correct. I typed Y by mistake and have edited my post. Chao was driving an X when the incident occurred.

My favorite part of taking trips from the US to Europe is that the bathroom stall doors go all the way to the floor. Public transit and pedestrian/cycling infrastructure is great too, but the toilet privacy wins.

Sure, no shade on rural living for those who need the space. I'm more opposed the the forced ruralization of suburbia. This video popped up in my feed and shows how much better medium-density suburban living could be in many places.

Unless their hardware doesn't support it. A lot of people are going to be tossing out perfectly good systems because they don't have a TPM.

Nah, they're just (rightly) pointing out that it's barbaric while continuing to think mutilating boys is just fine.

Agreed. I narrowed it down to a small species of ocean fish that was featured in Finding Nemo, but couldn't figure out how to pin down a specific species.

Remember, folks, if you, ever come across a bomb, mine, or anything else that looks a little bit like it might explode, get away, don't try to handle it, and call the authorities. Even "practice bombs" like this one can be extremely dangerous, sometimes even moreso with age.

I subscribed on a $30 first year promo. Happy with it for the price. NJB, Climate Town, City Nerd, and a few other creators I was following before are on there, plus I've discovered some new content that's pretty good. Plus it's a little less YouTube/Google in my life.

Talk to your landlord about adding the infrastructure. It's trivial for them to add 50 AMP rv-style outlets to one side of the lot, and you can then plug in your own mobile charger.

That's because it's been debunked and what you're sharing is misinformation.

Modern M50 has masks happily seal on a 1/4 inch beard. Additionally, if the intentions of this policy were protective rather than racist, why would they apply all the time? Making soldiers shave in garrison to be ready for a gas attack is stupid. They only issue masks when deploying, because nobody is about to gas Fort Hood.
