There is also a fire above the U of U in SLC. It's practically touching the hospital.

Utah is on fire and out of water. The state legislature is very much partially responsible. I've heard that they've started water restrictions for citizens but are allowing massive AI data centers to be built, powered by natural gas in the valley which already suffers from extreme inversions.

I know you said not clean, but Claude and other LLMs with this ability can and do still hallucinate even when researching. You can have it give you direct source links (not just the attributes that it gives by default) with explicit instructions to quote the exact finding, word for word, and sometimes it will suddenly tell you that it was made up and not actually in the attributed page. Not every time, but it's something to be very careful with.

Google's own LLM struggles with this issue as well.

Fuck Brian Heywood. Rich fuck should move to Idaho instead of spending millions to abuse the ballot initiative system.

I did it because I was tired of losing access to HA when my main server was down for maintenance.

Not gunna lie, taking the time to look up the people who downvote you and then pinging them is a bit much. It's not a great way to get people to agree with you. You could have just included more context in your original comment.

Is there a difference between this and Briar? Also, I wouldn't use anything like this that isn't open source.

To be clear (because I was confused at first), the creator in this context is an instructor of an online blender class, not a contributor to blender itself.

Proof of citizenship is already required to vote. That's what you're doing when you register to vote. Then, a secondary validation of a sample of ballots is typically completed to ensure that there isn't fraud.

Obviously, they're just trying anything and everything to not lose the midterms, and their voters go rabid over just the mention of voter fraud. I'm just rambling to the void because this new wave of fraud allegations is so fucking stupid and see through.

You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

Despite signing it, Newsom issued a statement urging the legislature to amend the law before its effective date, citing concerns from streaming services and game developers about "complexities such as multi-user accounts shared by a family member and user profiles utilized across multiple devices."

Then why the fuck did you sign it if it wasn't ready and needed amendments? Is this what you're going to do as president too?

Rhetorical, of course. Note how he doesn't say he disagrees with the bill, just that it needed to consider family devices.

If this is who wins the primary, we are done. We're basically already done, for sure, but him winning the primary would be the final nail in the coffin.

Be careful not to introduce security vulnerabilities such as command injection, XSS, SQL injection, and other OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities. If you notice that you wrote insecure code, immediately fix it.

Lmao. I'm sure that will solve the problem of it writing insecure slop code.

I agree when it comes to most "smart" home devices. However, I wired an ESP32 to my heat pump for remote control and automation, which has been absolutely fantastic. Also, I use a ton of ZigBee and zwave, since those are not "smart" by themselves and are local-only.

It's the cloud bullshit that always breaks and spies on users that I hate.

First, the software giant is doubling down on capital expenditures as Wall Street increasingly asks when investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure will produce more dramatic payoffs in revenue growth. And second, investors are selling software stocks over fears that AI startups like Anthropic and OpenAI are creating agents that can replace products made by companies like Microsoft.

Lmao, so we're waiting for a payoff while at the same time expecting that "agents" are going to change everything? It's almost like it's a lose-lose situation. A bubble, you could say!

It would be better to support public fiber infrastructure (through PUDs) in almost every way. I know not all remote areas can be reached with fiber, but most rural areas can be. My county has done exactly that with the rural portions - they focused on rolling it out to underserved rural areas first (even though it was more expensive to do that up front). Now, those rural areas have gigabit fiber and they didn't have to pay tens of thousands to wire it up to their homes.
